ISER Researcher’s Paper Honored at 2013 Annual Meeting of American Association for Cancer Education

A paper co-written by Katie Cueva, a research professional at ISER, has been awarded the R. Davilene Carter Prize for Best Paper submitted at the 2013 American Association for Cancer Education Annual Meeting. The paper, “Evaluating Arts-Based Cancer Education Using an Internet Survey among Alaska Community Health Workers,” was published in the November 2013 issue of Journal of Cancer Education. The paper reports the results of a survey of community health workers, who provide care in villages around Alaska, asking them if cancer-education courses they had taken that incorporated various forms of the arts had made it easier to learn about cancer and talk about it.

The paper is currently available only for sale by the publisher: http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007%2Fs13187-013-0577-7#
