Mary Ellen Gordian is new to ISER. She was previously medical officer for the Municipality of Anchorage and then at the Institute for Circumpolar Health Studies doing research on health effects of air pollution. Her interest is in environmental health and health-care policy

Current Funded Research

Assessment of Impact of New Regs Limiting Benzene: ISER researchers will study the concentration of benzene found in indoor air of Anchorage homes with attached garages in order to assess the impact of EPA regulations limiting benzene content in gasoline sold in the U.S. Funding agency: Municipality of Anchorage
