Title: An international comparison of health conditions among Inuit and Indigenous Peoples of Chukotka. Abstract: This paper presents results of the Survey of Living Conditions in the Arctic (SLICA). Probability sampling techniques were used in all countries to ensure that the 7,000 interviews statistically represent all Inuit adults living in Inuit settlement regions as well as the indigenous peoples of Chukotka. The intent of SLICA is to develop a new way of measuring living conditions that is relevant to arctic Native peoples, to compare living conditions among Native peoples of the Arctic, and to better understand the relationships among living conditions. The intent of this paper is to focus on a comparison of health conditions. |
