Mini-Grant Possible Causes StatementThe purpose of the Possible Causes Statement is to get you thinking about all the possible causes for the concern you identified. This will help in deciding what question(s) you want to address in the mini-grant. Perhaps the best way to explain what we mean by possible causes is by an example. Suppose your tribe is concerned about sores on the skin of King Salmon. We’d like you to think about the possible causes for these sores. You might identify as possible causes, for example, injuries from fishing downstream, an unseen virus introduced by hatchery stocks, and possible contamination for pollution in the ocean. You might download and or print out the Possible Causes Statement now so you have it ready when you go through the Resource Guide section on causes.
